CLIMATE MANIFESTO AND CREATIVE ACTIVISM AT GRASP

What do we do when the climate crisis feels global, overwhelming, and deeply close to home? And how can frustration, worry, and climate anxiety be transformed into hope, community, and action?

Over the next two days, we will explore the climate movement through global solidarity, activism, and creativity. We will talk about our own feelings and hopes for the future, explore how climate activists around the world are creating change, and work with how we can make our own mark.

Throughout the workshop, we will work both exploratively and creatively with textiles, textile painting, activist strategies, and visual expression. We will explore how messages can become something physical and visible, and how textiles can be used to communicate hopes, demands, and ideas for a different future.

Together, we will create a shared climate manifesto that brings together your ideas about the future you hope for – and what it will take to create it.

The manifesto will become part of GRASP and contribute to the conversation about climate anxiety and climate activism in connection with the screening of Phie Ambo’s Ilden, Vandet, Jorden, Luften on Saturday, October 3.
